Not exactly about loneliness, perhaps more about the end of loneliness! The journaling reads: Telephones! This was quite the occasion, when Chiniak got telephones for the first time. Until then, we had to go to town, 40 miles away, to call relatives and friends. When we moved into our new house in 1989, we had our own phone booth – a phone and a mechanical box in a hall closet! An antenna on the roof sent and received the signals. (The original newspaper photo, part of a review of 1988, is included in the back of this album.
