When prompted about friendship my mind usually goes to a childhood friend who’s still one of my closest friends today — that’s about 68 years of friendship! But this time, I chose to reflect on the friendship I have with my husband of nearly 39 years, primarily because of the “did it happen instantly or did it take time” question! Our roles took on many different forms from my being his boss and getting to know him as an employee and friend long before we dated and married. Everyone asked if we’d be in each other’s way when we retired and we both knew we would love being joined at the hip with nothing to do but projects we’d work on together. We restored, renovated and landscaped a 100-year-old cottage and took on babysitting responsibilities for our newborn granddaughter Ava — and we didn’t split up! THAT’S friendship, my friend….. Today, even with the ups and downs of late, we still enjoy doing things together and planning activities and just relaxing together. He’s my soul mate, the love of my life and “all that” but mostly and most importantly, he’s my best friend. I used the gorgeous Happiness collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studios for this layout because it was just so perfect….
Thank you so much! I do try to capture the story bits from my descriptions on my LOAD layouts. And sometimes I even anticipate it and leave a spot for it behind a layer. Didn’t think ahead on this one though…

This is so beautiful! I love your list, and your story. You should print it out and attach it to the page or maybe make it a pullout from behind.
