I included my journaling on a tag that I tucked behind a photo of one of Herman’s Hermits album covers (to explain why I would highlight Herman’s Hermits on a layout about Beatlemania). My journaling states:
“Ironically, this title (“P.S. I Love You”) is the title of another Beatles hit. I was not a big fan of the Beatles when they came out in 1964 in the U.S. So I couldn’t understand the whole Beatlemania thing, or girls screaming hysterically and fainting over them. I didn’t think they were all that great. It wasn’t until we went to visit the Frazier family in Winston-Salem over the Christmas 1965 holidays, and our cousins were playing the Rubber Soul album (especially the song “Norwegian Woods”) that I fell in love with the Beatles’ music.
My heartthrob in 1964 was Peter Noone [the lead singer] in the Herman’s Hermits band. I loved “Mrs. Brown, You’ve Got a Lovely Daughter”, “Leaning On a Lamp-Post”, and “I’m Henery the VIII, I Am”. So much fun!
I love that bottom embellishment cluster where it looks like you used a 45″ record label. That’s an awesome idea!
I love that the Beatles inspired you to do a page about another band. So fun to see where these prompts lead. Great job!
I like your background papers – Yay!
Fantastic page! The embellishments are great and the journaling pocket is brilliant!
great job, love the story. I’m a big Beatles fan.
I loved all those songs also, but because my siblings all listened to them! 🙂
