Theresa Knopf

As an exciting way to get to know our ScrapHappy Family members better, we are randomly selecting a member to spotlight each month.

I am so excited to introduce you to October’s Spotlighted member Theresa Knopf. Theresa is an active member of the ScrapHappy community, I just love her enthusiasm. Let’s get to know her a little bit better.

1. Name: Theresa Ann Knopf

2. Who lives with you? My wonderful hubby of 20 years, Ron and my gorgeous daughters Taylor, 18, a college freshman and Rachel, 17, a high school Senior, four dogs, Xavier a 10 year old black lab/dalmatian mix, Snowflake, a white Siberian Husky who is 7 years old, Sampson a 8 year old basset hound/beagle mix and Sierra, a 2 year old runt beagle and the newest family members 2 bunnies named Patchy & Thumper.
3. You’re stranded on a desert island. What five scrapbooking supplies do you bring along? My ATG gun & lots of refills, basic cardstock, my Tonic paper trimmer, my filled to capacity Scraprack (hahaha) & my camera (which I am never without, seriously, there’s one in my purse and a couple in the house and one the car)
4. What was the topic of your first scrapbook page? My first “modern” scrapbook page was about a trip to the zoo with my girls, my BFF & her four boys.  OMG, when I look back on the that page now it makes me cringe a little. Of course I’ve been scrapbooking in one way or another since I was a teenager.
Here is Theresa’s very first layout:

5. How would you define your scrapbooking style? Simple!  I’m more about the photos and stories than 50 layers on the page.  I have tons of scrapbooking “stuff” but I tend to keep my pages very simple.  I want the photos and journaling to be the star.  I’m the family historian/genealogist and I want future generations to know who we are and how we lived, what made us happy/sad.  I have family pics that I don’t have any idea who the people are or how they are related and I don’t want that to happen to the memories that I record in my scrapbooks.
6. When did you join the ScrapHappy family? May 29, 2013, I joined at the end of my first LOAD.  I found Lain quite by accident one day in Feburary 2013 on youtube and became hooked. I started participating in Scrapbook Improv and her monthly webinars and participated in LOAD513 and decided I wanted to be part of the fun all the time, so I joined ScrapHappy  and I’m so glad I did.
7. What do you like best about the community? The great encouragement and the fact that there is no “cattiness” or competition to be the best, like so many other sites.
8. What’s one thing about you that people learn right off the bat? That I say what I mean and mean what I say.  I don’t believe in beating around the bush.  I’m very direct.
9. What’s something we would be surprised to know about you?  My dream job would be to be a Broadway actress. I wanted to major in theater in college, but my parents didn’t think it was practical so instead I studied business.
10. What did you have for breakfast today? Chicken noodle soup (I’ve been obsessed with chicken & rice soup for the last few weeks, but all we had in the house was chicken & noodle)
11. Do you have a favorite quote? Life is like a a camera…focus on what’s important, capture the good times, develop from the negatives, and if things don’t work out,
take another shot.
Here are a couple of Theresa’s favorite layouts and what she says to describe them:
“I created this 2 page layout during LOAD513 just under the wire for my oldest daughter, Taylor’s graduation.  I love this layout because it is “so her.”  She is a country girl at heart.  I also took all the pics on the page.  These photos were part of her senior portrait session that we did.  I took her to a studio and had pics done by another photographer, but her favorites are the ones that I took.”

“This layout was also created during LOAD513.  It is very simple but probably my favorite layout I’ve ever done. I fussy cut the knife from a pic that I printed off the internet and the pic is of me & my dad when I was about 4 years old and was taken on Christmas day.  My dad is NEVER without his pocket knife and the weapons prompt that day was all about the knife and this just came to me the minute I read the prompt.”

I’m so glad we can all get to know Theresa even better – be sure to let her know how much you appreciate her.
