Hi to all of you from Karen’s Scrapping Challenge! For this challenge you’re getting a sneak peek of the upcoming LOAD Mini: Now & Then coming this August.
Your challenge is to create a layout about friendship. You may wish to look at your friends now, your friends from childhood, your children’s friends, friendships you’ve had for years, or a new friendship.

Inspiration Layout
On this layout I featured a photo of my friend Wendy and myself. The photo was taken in a dark location and was quite grainy.
To solve that problem I printed it fairly small and made it black and white to get rid of some of the awful colour in the photo.
I played with some papers from Webster’s Pages and some of their printed vellum too. They were a cut apart sheet which I used for making soft layers.
I had used a bit of gesso on the background paper as I originally thought I’d journal right on the background, but I changed my mind and grabbed a small journaling card instead.
I think the Thickers are from an Amy Tangerine collection.
I used various washi tapes to ground my photo and layers and then topped off the layout with some sequins, die cuts, and a bit of gold Heidi color shine.
