I created this double page spread about me winning a scrapbooking contest back in 2009. It was the first “award” that I thought of when I saw the story prompt. As I began creating the layout, I realized that I didn’t remember many details about the contest. Unfortunately, the site that held the contest closed its doors, as so many traditional paper and digital sites have in the past few years, so there was no information I could get from there. Luckily, I have my own personal blog where I share my layouts for myself and for my extended family. I was so delighted to find that I had written details down about the contest. It makes me feel even more attached to my blog (even though they aren’t that popular anymore). Then, instead of just using the layouts from the contest as I originally planned, I decided to take screen shots of my blog. From that point, I paired them with some templates with awesome banners so I could meet not only the story prompt, but the technique prompt as well!
