Even an Old Dog Can Learn New Tricks...

Hey Everyone, I’m Claire and I am thrilled to be part of the Scraphappy Bog Creative Team!

Here’s a little bit about me, I’ve lived in New England all my life, born and raised in Maine, a short stint in coastal New Hampshire for grad school, and the past three decades in Massachusetts.

I’ve enjoyed multiple creative outlets since I was a young girl starting with needlework, knitting and sewing. I make clothing, quilts, curtains and a lot of doll dresses.

So where does paper enter the picture? I wandered into a local scrapbook store in 2007, not sure what I was looking for, but managed to walk out with enough supplies to make my first scrapbook page.

This is my oldest daughter and her favorite toy Bert. A rudimentary design, monochromatic  and I think everyone has owned these floral punches at one time or another.

This is that same little girl holding her own daughter in a layout for Calvinball this past year.  My how times have changed! Ephemera galore, washi tape, alphas and pink for Halloween, not to mention a phone that takes gorgeous photos.

Twenty seven years later I’m still in love with paper!  I create 8×8 layouts, cards, mini albums, traveler’s notebooks, and my new favorite…junk journals.

My favorite subjects are my 4 grandchildren and the 8×8 size is perfect for little hands. Don’t let this smaller size fool you though, I pack a lot of punch on my layouts.  Embellishments? Yes please. Journaling? I could be better but I always hide the date of the photo somewhere on my page.

I’m looking forward to sharing my adventures in memory making, but more importantly, seeing what all of you create.  I’m a huge proponent of taking some time each day, no matter how small, to make pretty things.
