The Ladybug Struggle is Real…

I really want to be the person with lovely glass jars filled with baubles and bling waiting for my next creation. Vintage containers line my perfectly curated shelves holding all my junk journal supplies. I have more bins, baskets and jars than the Container Store! I bought stuff, had too much stuff, got rid of stuff and so on… Enter the Clutterbug quiz, lo and behold I’m a Ladybug, problem solved right?  Not so fast, I purchase large bins, sorted supplies into broad categories and yet I’m still piling stuff on the floor and any other available flat surface.

I’m perusing You Tube one day watching decluttering videos cause that’s always better than cleaning up my own mess and I come across Dana K. White and a collaboration she started with Cara Brandon Creations. She is a no nonsense professional, let me tell you-the first order of business was to get everything off the floor one thing at a time, you can’t set it down anywhere, the item needs to be taken to the first place you would look for it in the future.  Things really got interesting as people struggled to find space for their things which leads to the second part of this, there is only so much room in any given area for supplies.  Wow ,what a concept!  I love making junk journals and every scrap of paper is worth saving, until of course the volume of “junk” is out of control.  I chose a few containers and separated everything by size (a broad category for this Ladybug) and recycled the rest

I cleared the floor near my desk and Kallax unit, and I’m concentrating on keeping this area free of clutter. Old habits die hard and I still find myself tossing things on the nearest flat surface, but I’m getting better. Calvinball may throw a small wrench into my efforts, but I will keep at it.
