Shimelle

CLASS: Colour by Number

With all the colours under the sun, how do we choose the shades for something as simple as our next scrapbook page? Let’s start with photos and walk through different options, like what colours would be best no matter if it’s a one, two, three, four, or five colour palette. We’ll be looking more at photos and preparing supplies (like making page kits, for example) than specific page design, so you may want to come to class with some photos from your to-scrap pile and a notepad.

An Introduction to Shimelle

London-based designer Shimelle Laine loves mixing current colour trends with the sweet nostalgia of stickers and glitter.  She designed twelve papercraft collections with American Crafts, edited idea books, and was the first person to teach online classes in the scrapbooking industry. She’s a scrapbooker at heart and has a wall of albums filled with her family’s stories.  With a love of craft and more than a little pixie dust, Shimelle looks for the magic in every new day. Rebecca Keppel

CLASS: Foiling

Rebecca is part of the Therm O Web design team and she’ll share a ton of inspiration on how you can bring foil to your cardmaking and scrapbooking projects.

A Message from Rebecca

Hi all! I’m Rebecca Keppel and I have been paper crafting since 2005 when my oldest was born. I started out scrapbooking to create her baby book. One day, I needed a birthday card and looked around at my supplies and realized that all the beautiful papers, embellishments and stamps I had collected could be used beyond my scrapbooks! And that’s when my card making obsession began! Paper crafting has always been a creative outlet for me as well as a therapeutic practice and I’ve loved the community of crafty friends I’ve met along the way. Thanks to Alice and ScrapHappy for having me! I am looking forward to making more crafty friends during this fabulous ScrapSmarter event!

Khristina Sorge

CLASS: Hidden Gems

Khristina will help you find the hidden gems and transform pieces of your scrapbook collections into masculine and gender neutral amazingness!

A Message from Khristina

Hi! My name is Khristina Sorge and I have been scrapbooking and creating with paper ever since I was kid. My very first scrapbook was simply a spiral bound notebook where I wrote notes and stories and used scotch tape to add my favorite treasures. Yes..I still have it! Throughout college, I worked and taught classes in my local scrapbook store while recording my stories. I  then continued by memory keeping and storytelling with three amazing children of my own. Over the past few years, I have really jumped into scrapbooking industry even more and have had the amazing opportunity to serve and inspire others on several different design teams including such companies as Clique Kits, Paper House Productions, Wild Whisper Designs, SpiegelMom Scraps, and many others. I have a very active You Tube channel and I started my own custom kit curating business out of my home called The Secret Not Secret Kit Club.  I am a massive travel fanatic, avid reader, and adventurous momma! Raising three crazy amazing kids is the highlight of my life and they have experienced everything from submarine rides to ziplining and white water rafting right along with me!  I can’t wait to inspire you to create and tell your stories.

Janet from RTS

CLASS: No Photo Needed

Help! I don’t have a photo! Janet is here to show you how to use your pretty papers to make sure these stories are included in your scrapbooks!

A Message from Janet

Hello Beautiful! I have been scrapbooking for 26 years. Hard to believe I have been dedicated to this hobby for that long.

In that time, I have learned many aspects of scrapbooking, worked with manufacturers, taught many classes/workshops,

hosted crops, created a YouTube channel, started an exciting Patreon group and taken THOUSANDS of photos all along the way.

Scrapbooking is simply a hobby for me, and one that I am very passionate about. I still get giddy to create kits, plan layouts,

play with color and design, work with challenges, explore new product, scrap with others and most importantly, I LOVE to TALK

about this rewarding hobby! At this point, scrapbooking really is a major part of my daily life and Recording ‘my’ Story. Absolutely!

Do you have a stash of washi tape, but you’re just not using it? Layle will show you ALL of the tricks for including washi tape in your creative projects. You’ll be able to shop for more once you start using it all up!

An Introduction to Layle

Howdy friends!  I’ve been scrapbooking for the past 23 years, since the birth of our first son; it seems like it’s been since the beginning of time!  After more than 12 years working in the scrapbook industry for various manufacturers, a year ago I took my love for all things paper & planning and made a BIG leap to go out on my own and focus full time on growing my Layle By Mail business offering scrapbook project kits, traveler’s notebook kits, products & accessories by mail.

I’ve been teaching for the last 17 years & have had the amazing opportunity to travel the world teaching and making connections with other scrapbookers & crafters that share the same passion for the hobby. Besides crafting, I love traveling, reading, shopping, decorating, binging on Netflix, dieting (ok, not really!) and spending time with my husband as new empty nesters!
